If you edited your Brink but the public page does not show the change, the cause is usually one of a few things: the Brink is not live, a block is hidden or scheduled, or a preview is briefly cached. Work through these in order.
Is your Brink live?
A new Brink starts as a draft, and only a published, active Brink is visible to the public. If visitors see a "not found" or "not active" page instead of your content:
- Open your Brink in the dashboard.
- Set it to published so it goes live.
- Open your public Brink URL again to confirm it loads.
A Brink that is suspended or archived is also hidden from the public, even if you previously published it. Editing in the dashboard does not make a Brink public on its own. It has to be live.
Is the block hidden or scheduled?
Individual blocks can be hidden or set to appear later. A block that is hidden, or scheduled for a time that has not arrived yet, will not show on the public page even when the Brink is live. Check the block you edited:
- Make sure it is set to visible, not hidden.
- If you gave it a schedule, confirm the start time has passed and the end time has not.
Is a block locked?
A block protected by an access code, an age check, or a sensitive-content warning appears locked on the public page, not missing. That is expected. Visitors unlock it by entering the code or confirming, so it is working as intended.
Are you looking at a cached preview?
Some parts of a Brink are cached briefly for speed, so they can lag your latest edit by a short while:
- Social previews, the image and title that appear when you share the link, are cached for around 15 minutes. If the thumbnail or title looks out of date after sharing, wait and try again.
- Short link redirects are cached for about a minute, so a freshly published or unpublished Brink can take that long to start or stop resolving.
The Brink page itself updates quickly, but social share previews are cached for roughly 15 minutes. If a platform still shows an old preview, give it time, then re-share.
Still not updating?
- Hard-refresh the public page, or open it in an incognito window, to rule out your own browser cache.
- Confirm you saved the edit and that you are editing the same Brink you are viewing.
- If a published, visible block still will not appear after 15 minutes, contact support with your Brink username and what you changed.
