Braandly charges for paid plans through one of two payment providers, Paddle or Paystack. You do not pick the provider yourself. Braandly chooses it automatically based on the country on your account, which also sets the currency you are charged in.
Which provider applies to you
Your payment provider and currency depend on your location:
- In Nigeria, payments go through Paystack in Nigerian Naira (NGN).
- Elsewhere, payments go through Paddle, usually in US Dollars (USD), and a local currency in some regions.
The currency follows the provider, so you cannot switch it on its own. If your billing location looks wrong, contact support so it can be corrected.
Supported payment methods
The payment methods at checkout come from Paddle or Paystack directly, not from a setting inside Braandly:
- Paddle supports major credit and debit cards, plus the wallet options Paddle offers in your region.
- Paystack supports cards and the local options Paystack offers, such as bank and transfer methods common in Nigeria.
The exact list you see depends on your provider, your country, and your bank.
Managing your payment method
How you update your card depends on your provider, and this is the main practical difference between them:
- Paddle gives you a self-service billing portal. From your billing settings you can open it to update your card, view your transactions, and manage your subscription.
- Paystack does not offer a customer portal for card changes. To change the card on a Paystack subscription, start the checkout again from your billing settings and pay with the new card.
Taxes
Any tax or VAT is handled by your payment provider at checkout, not by Braandly. Paddle acts as the merchant of record and applies the tax rules for your location, so anything added at checkout comes from the provider.
How charges appear on your statement
Your payment is processed by Paddle or Paystack, so the merchant name on your bank or card statement comes from the provider and may not read exactly as "Braandly." If you see a charge you do not recognise around the time you subscribed, check whether it lists Paddle or Paystack before reporting it.
Complimentary access
Some accounts are on a complimentary plan granted directly by the Braandly team. A complimentary plan is a full paid tier for a set period, with no charge and no payment method attached, so there is no invoice for it.
