Real-time collaboration

Braandly keeps parts of your workspace in sync as you and your team work. This guide explains what updates live and what needs a refresh, so you know what to expect when collaborating.

What updates live

  • Editing a doc together. More than one person can edit a workspace doc at the same time. You see each other's changes and live cursors, who is currently in the doc, and when someone is typing, so you are never overwriting one another.
  • The doc list. When docs are created, moved, or deleted in a shared space, the changes appear for others viewing that list without a refresh.
  • Notifications. New notifications arrive in real time, so you are alerted without reloading.
  • Support chat. Messages in a support conversation appear live, including typing indicators.

What needs a refresh

Not everything is pushed live. A few things update when you reload the page or navigate to them:

  • Tasks and boards. Changes a teammate makes to tasks or a project board appear when you refresh or reopen the board, not instantly.
  • Comments. You are notified when someone mentions you or comments, but the comment thread itself updates on refresh.

If you are watching a task board while a teammate works, refresh to see their latest changes. Live co-editing is built for docs, where two people often type at once.

What you need

Real-time features require you to be signed in and connected. They work in a modern browser with a stable connection. If live updates stop, check your connection and refresh to reconnect.
