Docs are Braandly's built-in documents for notes, briefs, and anything you want to write down and keep near your brand work. This overview explains the types of docs and what you can do with them.
Personal vs workspace docs
- Personal docs are yours. They are private to you and good for personal notes and drafts.
- Workspace docs belong to a workspace and can be shared with your team, subject to their role.
You have a default personal doc that is always there and cannot be deleted. If you start something personal that becomes team work, you can convert it into a workspace doc.
Writing and editing
The doc editor is rich text, so you get headings, lists, formatting, links, and more. Each doc can also have a cover image, an emoji icon, and a background colour to make it easy to recognise.
Collaborating in real time
More than one person can edit a workspace doc at the same time. You see each other's live cursors, who is currently in the doc, and when someone is typing, so you are never overwriting one another.
Organising docs
- Tags to group and find docs.
- Nesting to build a hierarchy of related pages, up to a few levels deep.
- Attach a doc to a brand, task, project, or Brink so the writing sits next to the work.
Sharing and access
You have a few ways to share, depending on how open you want a doc to be:
- Public link. Share a doc with a link and choose whether people can view, comment, or edit. Revoke the link at any time to make it private again.
- Workspace access. Let your whole workspace reach a doc at a set access level.
- Named collaborators. Invite specific people, including by email, each with their own access level.
- Restrict a doc. Limit a workspace doc to specific members when it should not be seen by everyone.
Docs also support comments and reactions, so your team can discuss the content in place. You can lock or protect a doc to prevent further edits.
Templates and history
- Templates start a doc from a ready-made layout instead of a blank page, across categories like meeting notes, project planning, and brand strategy.
- Version history look back at earlier versions of a doc.
AI in docs
AI writing help is built into docs to summarise, rewrite, translate, expand, and more. It draws on your AI credits, so a paid plan with a credit allowance is what lets you use it. See Braandly AI overview and AI credits and limits.
Personal docs are private to you; workspace docs are shared with your team. Check which kind you are in before writing something sensitive.
