Your brand guidelines can leave Braandly in several shapes: a PDF to send, a brand kit of raw assets for a designer, an image, or a link. All of them are behind one Export button in the guidelines editor.

The export options

OptionWhat you getNeeds publishing
Download PDFA print-ready A4 PDF of the whole guidelineYes
Brand KitA .zip of your logo files, colors, and typographyYes
Export ImageA PNG of the guidelineNo
Copy LinkA short link to the public versionYes
ShareSharing to social platformsYes
QR CodeA downloadable QR code pointing at the linkYes

Export your guidelines

  1. Open the guideline you want to export.
  2. Click Export in the top bar.
  3. Pick an option from the grid.
  4. Your file downloads, or your link is copied, straight away.

Exports are generated on the spot. There is no queue and no email, so if a download does not start, the export did not complete.

Publish first

Five of the six options need the guideline published. Unpublished, they are greyed out and the modal tells you why.

You can publish from the same window. The panel at the top shows Published or Not Published with a matching Publish or Unpublish button.

Publishing a guideline unpublishes any other published guideline for the same brand. Only one guideline per brand can be live at a time, so publishing a new version takes the old one down without asking. See why publishing changed another guideline.

Export Image is the exception. It works on an unpublished guideline, which makes it the option to reach for when you need to show work in progress.

Which format to use

Download PDF is the one to send to someone outside your team. It is built on Braandly's servers from a print version of your guideline, so it paginates onto A4 with margins and page numbers and will not match the editor pixel for pixel. See why the PDF looks different.

Brand Kit is for handing raw assets to a designer or developer. See what's in your brand kit.

Export Image is captured from the guideline as it appears on screen, so it is the closest match to what you see. Good for a quick share in chat or a slide.

Copy Link gives a short link that opens the public guideline page in any browser, with no Braandly account needed. Anyone with the link can view it, so treat it as public.

Troubleshooting

The export button does nothing, or an option is greyed out. Check whether the guideline is published. Everything except Export Image requires it.

Publish looks like it did nothing. A guideline has to be saved at least once before it can be published.

The PDF is missing images or has gaps. The PDF waits a short while for images to load and skips any that are too slow or broken, leaving a space rather than failing outright. Make sure images are fully uploaded, then export again.

A logo is missing from the brand kit. It could not be downloaded when the kit was built. The export still succeeds without it. Check the asset, then export again.

The download is blank or fails. Exports need an active session. If the editor has been open a long time, refresh, confirm you are still signed in, and retry.
